AUSTIN– White bass are one of Texas’ most sought-after gamefish, especially when they make their annual spring spawning migration into rivers above reservoirs. To improve access for anglers targeting white bass, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has signed a leased access agreement through June 30, 2017, with property owners at the Kingsland Slab RV Camp on the Llano River above Lake LBJ and a 20-year agreement with Chandler River Park on the Neches River above Lake Palestine. Both rivers are known for their excellent white bass runs, and April through early-May is the prime time to target this species.
